Artur Tabor

Artur Tabor (* 1968 in Radom ; † July 2, 2010 in Mongolia ) was a well-known Polish nature photographer and documentary filmmaker .
Tabor graduated from the Akademia Podlaska in Siedlce . After his training he devoted himself to wildlife observation and nature photography with a focus on the Podlaskie region . His first illustrated book was entitled Bug. Nadbużańskie Podlasie . Tabor has published in numerous Polish magazines and received international attention, for example through publications in National Geographic and awards at national and international photo competitions. In 2002 his picture " Moor frogs fighting for a female" was awarded by the International Federation of Wildlife Photography and was praised at the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2002 competition . His photo “Dance in the Dawn” won the “Glanzlichter 2005” competition.
Since 1998 he has been involved in filming; his first nature film Podlaski Przełom Bugu was released in 2001 and was awarded at a Polish nature film festival in 2002. More documentaries followed. One of his last projects was the Wild Poland exhibition . Natural Heritage of Europe , which was shown across Europe.
On July 2, 2010, Tabor died while traveling in Mongolia.
