Nstasia (* in Haiti as Ashley Nastasia Griffin ) is an American songwriter and R&B singer.

Career

Griffin grew up in Asheville , North Carolina , with her grandmother and musical father, who had previously played for Eugene Wilde and Betty Wright as a live musician . As a child she was interested in singing and at times also learned the clarinet . From her student days in Atlanta, she immersed herself in music and eventually dropped out of college when music producers became interested in her. In 2010 she got a contract as a songwriter at Sony / ATV and from then on worked with greats in the American music business such as LL Cool J , Jermaine Dupri , Usher , Macy Gray and Beyoncé .

In 2015 she moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles , where she made her debut as a singer with the single Here in My Skin . Nstasia's first major publication was u. a. EP New Religion from 2017 , created in collaboration with Skrillex . In 2018, a stripped version of the debut EP was released. In addition, the singer contributed several guest contributions to songs by other artists. At the end of the year she reached the top of the Italian single charts with Il cielo nella stanza (collaboration with Salmo ) .
