The Asia Society is a large global non-governmental organization whose aim is to improve relations between the Asian countries and the United States of America . John D. Rockefeller III founded the organization in 1956. The Rockefeller Collection of Asian Art is exhibited in the New York headquarters .

The work of the society tries to improve the relations between the two regions with actions in the fields of politics, culture, education and economy. To this end, it has offices in New York City , Houston , Los Angeles , San Francisco , Washington, DC , Hong Kong , Manila , Melbourne , Shanghai , Mumbai and Seoul . At the beginning of 2016, the company opened its first office in Europe thanks to well-known sponsors from Switzerland in Zurich .

One goal is that international relations issues become part of the classroom for all students worldwide. The company is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation .

The Asia Society receives donations and support from many different companies and organizations, such as B.
