Boxing competitions have also been held at the Asian Games every four years since 1954 . In addition to the Asian boxing championships, they are the most important Asian competitions in boxing. Eligible male and female boxers (19–40 years of age) are eligible, with fights in ten weight classes for men and only three weight classes for women. The women's competitions did not take place until 2010.
