Asitha Ameresekere
Asitha Ameresekere (born June 24, 1971 in London ) is a British film director .
Life
Asitha Ameresekere's family roots are in Sri Lanka . He went to Overseas Children's School in Sri Lanka and Harrow School in London. At the University of Bristol , he attended lectures in classical studies . He completed his studies in theater, video and film at the California Institute of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts .
Asitha Ameresekere has received several awards for his short films . In 2008 he took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus . Asitha Ameresekere lives in London.

Awards
- For in sight was Asitha Ameresekere 2004 for a Chlotrudis Award nominated.
- For Do Not Erase he won the audience award at the Hamburg Short Film Festival 2006, the Best Short Film category at the BAFTA Awards 2007 and the Reel Frontier Award at the Arizona International Film Festival 2007.
- Asitha Ameresekere received the Vienna Short Film Award for 14 at Vienna Independent Shorts 2009. The film was also nominated for Best Short Film at the 2010 BAFTA Awards .
