Asleep in the Back is the debut album by the English rock band Elbow and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2001.

Music genre

The music of Elbow in general, and Asleep in the Back in particular, is often compared to the music of Travis , The Verve , Radiohead and Coldplay .

History of origin

The group was only able to release the album very late after various difficulties. At the time of publication, the band had shared stage experience for almost ten years.

Track list

"All in all, the whole album is a rather gloomy work, which, however, in no way can obscure the intertwined romantic ideas."
