Asodog ( Japanese あ そ ど っ ぐ asodoggu , real name: Aso Taiichi 阿 曽 太 一 ; born December 29, 1978 in Miyaki in Saga Prefecture ) is a Japanese comedian . Due to a muscular atrophy of the spine , with the exception of the face and the left thumb , he cannot move. With a body length of 150 cm, he weighs 24 kg and is the "first bedridden person in the comedy world" to carry out entertainment activities. He lives in the town of Koshi in Kumamoto Prefecture .

life and career

He was born on December 29, 1978 in Miyaki City, Saga Prefecture. Soon after birth, he developed spinal muscular atrophy . In his first year of nursing school , as a student with muscular dystrophy , he wanted to be a laughing entertainer . He then started posting funny videos on Nico Nico Douga Live Broadcasting in 2011 . In 2012 he first appeared on television on NHK Educational TV on the Barrier-free Variety Show . This is a variety show and information program on the subject of people with disabilities , which is broadcast on educational television (NHK E-Tele). He won second place in the 3rd “SHOW-1 Grand Prix” tournament , which determines the most interesting artist with disabilities in Japan. Japanese comedian Cunning Takeyama , who appeared on the show, said that with Asodog, "a brilliantly laughing person came out." Then he continued to participate in the Grand Prix. He was 7th in the 4th tournament and 2nd in the 5th tournament. He commented on this by saying that “the bedridden person has lost character”. In April 2017, the documentary Sleeping Ramones was released. In August of the same year he undertook ambitious activities such as the announcement of his first photo book, Asodog's Sleeping Collection Book . In the R-1 Grand Prix 2017 he went into the second round. He has also participated in local events in Kyushu , including the Comedy Banchō live event in Fukuoka City .
