The pointed striped fern ( Asplenium onopteris ) is a species of the genus of the striped fern ( Asplenium ) and belongs to the family of the striped fern family (Aspleniaceae). According to Euro + Med it is classified as a subspecies Asplenium adiantum-nigrum subsp. onopteris (L.) Heufl. of the black-stemmed striped fern .
description
The plant with a red-brown stem reaches a height of 10 to 50 cm. The blades of the fronds are leathery and shiny dark green. In outline they are triangular-egg-shaped and 2-4-fold pinnate. The pinnate ends are elongated (tailed) and curved towards the tip of the blade. The spreading sections are toothed spiky. The sori are arranged near the midribs arranged leaf veins .
The spores ripen from September to June.
The species chromosome number is 2n = 72.
Occurrence
The distribution area includes the entire Mediterranean area and the Canary Islands . Shady rock crevices in forests and bushes are preferred as a location.
