Assassin's Creed: Lineage is a 2009 twisted short film on the history of the video game Assassin's Creed II from Ubisoft is based. The first part of the short film was released on YouTube on October 26, 2009 , two more parts followed on November 12, 2009 and the full film on November 14, 2009. The film was included in special editions of the games Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood . In the United States, an edition on DVD and Blu-ray was released in regular stores on November 15, 2011 .

The short film is about Giovanni Auditores adventures, the material relates to the gender struggles during the Renaissance in Italy. The Borgia want to kill the assassins and usurp world domination. It begins with the murder of Galeazzo Maria Sforza . Thereupon Giovanni gets the order to kill the Borgia and their followers, but in a fight he is injured by Rodrigo Borgia with a knife and hunted since then.
