Jesse Rath (born February 11, 1989 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian actor who was best known for the television series 18 to Life .

Life

Jesse Rath grew up in his native Montreal with his older sister, the actress Meaghan Rath, known from Being Human . His parents are both Canadians , however his father also has English and Austrian ancestry and the mother's family was originally from Goa , India .

Jesse Rath had one of his first film roles in 2005 in the film The Greatest Game of His Life . After a three-year hiatus, he played a role in the 2008 film Party Date . Between 2009 and 2010 he was seen in a recurring role on the series Aaron Stone . His first leading role was that of Carter Boyd in the CBC series 18 to Life , which he played from 2010 to 2011. This was followed by a guest role on the series My Babysitter is a Vampire . Rath was also seen in the series Mudpit from 2011 to 2013 . Between 2013 and 2014 he played in four episodes of the series Being Human to Robbie Malik , the brother of Sally Malik , who was represented by his sister Meaghan. Since April 2013 he has played a leading role as Alak Tarr in the Syfy series Defiance .
