Yves Simoneau

Yves Simoneau (born October 28, 1955 in the city of Quebec , Province of Quebec ) is a Canadian film director , film producer and screenwriter .

Life and accomplishments

Simoneau made a few short films and around 30 commercials. He works in Canada and the USA and directed the thriller Deadly Intentions (1994) with Jamie Lee Curtis , the black-humored comedy Free Money (1998) with Charlie Sheen and Marlon Brando , the court film Nuremberg - In the Name of Humanity (2000) with Alec Baldwin , the action film Ignition (2001) with Bill Pullman , the miniseries Napoleon (2002) with Christian Clavier and Isabella Rossellini and the pilot episode of the series 4400 - The Returners (2004).

At the 1987 Berlin International Film Festival , Simoneau was nominated for the Golden Bear for In the Shadow of the Wind ( Les Fous de Bassan ) . In 1987 there were two Genie Award nominations for In the Shadow of Power ( Pouvoir intime ) in the categories Best Director and Best Original Screenplay , the latter shared with Pierre Curzi . In 2001 Simoneau was nominated for the Gemini Award for directing the miniseries Nuremberg - In the Name of Humanity . In 2003 he received the 7 d'Or Night award for directing this film . This was followed in 2005, shared with others, by an Emmy nomination for 4400 - The Returners as best series. As a director of the television film Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee , he was nominated for this award at the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards .
