Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps
The Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps ( ACMC ; German about: Deputy Chief of Staff of the United States Marine Corps ) is the first advisor and representative of the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC).
The service of the ACMC requires the rank of general and the approval of the US Senate .
Prior to 1946, the title of the post was Assistant to the Commandant of the Marine Corps . For the period before 1918, only the description is on file in the USMC for the job duty in the office of the Commandant (dt. Service in the office of the Commandant ) out. Before the First World War, there was no evidence of this post. This is probably due to the fact that the commandant of the US Marine Corps, which was much smaller at the time, only had an administrative staff and no deputies.
