Assyghat Ässiuly Schabaghin ( Kazakh Асығат Әсиұлы Жабағин , Russian Асыгат Асиевич Жабагин Assygat Assijewitsch Schabagin ; born December 29, 1948 in Pavlodar , Kazakh politician , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician .

Life

Assyghat Shabaghin was born in Pavlodar in 1948 . He graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in Alma-Ata in 1971 .

After graduating from college, he worked at the Yermak coal-fired power station . Between 1973 and 1979 he was active in the Communist Party, where he was first secretary of the city committees of the Young Communist League of Kazakhstan in Yermak. In the following two years he served on the Communist Party committee and between 1978 and 1981 he served on the regional party committee of Pavlodar Oblast . From 1981 to 1987 he worked for the regional energy supplier Pavlodarenergo and then he was employed by the energy supplier Altai Energo in Ust-Kamenogorsk . Between 1988 and 1991 he served on the Northern Kazakhstan Regional Party Committee.

After Kazakhstan's independence, Shabaghin worked for the Kazakh government in the Ministry of Energy. From 1992 to 1993 he was the head of the regional administration of the Pavlodar region and in 1993 and 1994 he held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He then sat as chairman of the board of directors of Ansat. In 1998, he was appointed Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade in Nurlan Balghymbayev's cabinet . After only a few months in this office, he became an advisor to the Prime Minister that same year. In 1999 he was President of the Oil Union of Kazakhstan, and he was also a board member of KEGOC .
