Astharoth was a Polish thrash metal band from Bielsko-Biała , which was founded in 1988 and disbanded in 1994.
history
The band was founded in 1988 and consisted of singer and guitarist Jarek Tatarek, guitarist Dorota Homme, bassist Witold Wirth and drummer Dariusz Malysiak. The band won the Metal Battle in 1989 at the Spodek Arena in Katowice and thereby achieved an appearance at Metalmania . The debut album Gloomy Experiments was released in Finland via Poko Rekords and in Italy via Metal Master Records . In the spring of 1990, the band played again on Metalmania to support Kreator . Instead of recording a second album afterwards, the band now relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area . In the following years the band recorded further demos: Self Hatered (1990), Wisdom of the Blind (1991), Limits (1992) and Cycles of the Sphere (1994). In 1994 the group split up. In 2009, the debut album Gloomy Experiments was re-released through Metal Mind Productions .
