Astra Kid is a rock group founded in 1996 by André Raschke, Stefan Götzer and Daniel Hoffmeister in Datteln .

Band history

As one of the few German-speaking rock bands from the Ruhr area, the musicians were able to sign a record deal with a major label and gain a nationwide reputation. Musically they differed from other representatives of the NNDW at the beginning (album "Planet Der Affen"), because the music and the lyrics had a melancholy to depressive tone and the rock music elements, partly American influenced (compared to the pop music elements of most representatives of the NNDW) were in the foreground. Starting with the album "Müde, Ratlos, Unkämmt" and finally with the album "Stereo", both the sound and the lyrics got a more positive impact. At the end of 2005 the band announced their breakup. Singer and guitarist Stefan "Pele" Götzer has been the bass player for the Cologne band Klee since 2006 and also founded the band Pele Caster in 2010 . Christian Götzer was the drummer of the band Samba from Münster from the end of 2006 , but left the band in 2009 due to private obligations and now plays with the band Fettpfanne.
