Astrid Alexandre

Astrid Alexandre (born April 5, 1981 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ) is a Swiss songwriter and radio journalist .

Life

Astrid Alexandre grew up in Belgium and Switzerland in a Belgian-Swiss family, attended school in Switzerland and completed the teachers' seminar in Chur and studied at the musicological seminar at the University of Basel . Meanwhile she works partly as an editor at Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha . Alexandre sings mainly in Sursilvan , but also in English, French and Swiss German. Her first solo album was released in autumn 2014. Before that she recorded the CDs Triada and Origins with Corin Curschellas .

As a musician she has appeared at festivals and on stages throughout Switzerland and France, as a solo artist, member of an ensemble and often together with Mario Pacchioli and Corin Curschellas . She initiated the successful chant au tour project for Radiotelevisiun Rumantscha , with which Rhaeto-Romanic singers went on tour in Switzerland.
