The Astronesthinae are deep-sea fish from the family of the baleen dragon fish (Stomiidae). Astronesthes (Greek) means "star dress".

features

The animals are a maximum of 30 centimeters long. Your skin is flaky. The dorsal fin is above or behind the base of the pelvic fin , always in front of the anal fin . All species, with the exception of Rhadinesthes decimus , have an adipose fin . They wear a barbels on their chins .
