The Atlantic pistachio ( Pistacia atlantica ) is a species of the sumac family (Anacardiaceae).
features
The Atlantic pistachio is a deciduous, 4 to 7 (rarely up to 20) meter high shrub or tree . The leaves are five to eleven, the pinna are oval and elongated and have no attached tip. The spindle has narrow wings. The stem is hairy.
The flowering period extends from March to April.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 30.
Occurrence
The Atlantic pistachio is found on dry slopes in North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Canary Islands.
