Diocese of Sofia
The Diocese of Sofia ( Bulgarian Софийска епархия / Sofijska Eparchija) is an eparchy (diocese) of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church based in Sofia . Today the diocese is divided into eight Okolii : Sofia, Samokow , Ichtiman , Dupnitsa , Radomir , Kyustendil , Tran and Godetsch . Since 1922 the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church (1870-1953 exarch , from 1953 patriarch ) is also head of the eparchy of Sofia.
