AB Atrama is a metal processing company in the Lithuanian second largest city of Kaunas . In addition to gas bottles , water meters and heating technology are also manufactured.
history
In 1939, Akcinė bendrovė “Grandis” company was founded in Kaunas - Vilijampolė ( Raudondvario plentas 44/45) to manufacture horseshoes , nails and other metal products. The share capital was 200,000 litas , a total of 200 shares per 1,000 litas. The board members were Samuelis Apriaskis, Colonel Jeronimas Vyšniauskas and Chaimas Apriaskis. In 1939 there were 7 employees and in 1940 there were 20 metal workers.
On August 2, 1940, the company was nationalized in Soviet Lithuania . In 1946 the construction of a new company began. In 1947 two companies "Technodega" and "Atrama" merged. In 1948 Valstybinis pasagų fabrikas “Atrama” became “Valstybinis metalinis baldų fabrikas”, 1952 to Valstybinis fabrikas “Atrama”, from summer 1957 “Respublikinė valstybinė metalo apdirbimo gamykla” (subordinate to Liaudies ūkio mašinų gamybos ). In 1990 the company was privatized. In 1997 a turnover of 18 million Lt (5.21 million euros) was achieved, in 1998 around 15.087 million Lt (4.37 million euros) and in 1999 around 10.532 million Litas (3 million euros ). On June 30, 2000, the company had 2,514 employees. For 2001, sales of 40 million litas (11.585 million euros) were forecast based on the signed purchase agreements with Italian and Turkish companies for exclusive rights to trade in gas bottles .
