In search of memory - the brain researcher Eric Kandel is a film portrait of the neuroscientist and Nobel Prize winner Eric Kandel . The film is dedicated to his life story and research. The director Petra Seeger accompanied Kandel for two years. The shooting took place at Kandel's life stations in Paris , Vienna and the USA , which Kandel visits - sometimes accompanied by his family.

The film was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize 2009 as best documentary film and received the journalism prize of the GlaxoSmithKline Foundation, Munich 2010.
