history

The Vilstal has been continuously settled for over 7500 years. In the east of Aufhausen, many shards, tools made of flint and rock have been found since 1970 , which show that people have lived here since the oldest Neolithic . A 6000 year old vessel in the shape of a human was discovered in 1997 and was given the name Venus von Aufhausen . At the end of August 2005, a skeleton was discovered north of the football field, which is believed to be around 7,500 years old and dates from the Neolithic. In recent years, the remains of several Neolithic houses that were up to 30 meters long were found near the skeleton site.

During excavations from 1990 onwards, archaeologists found traces of settlement from Baden culture (approx. 3500 BC) and a large-scale settlement from the Urnfield period (approx. 1200 BC) with a lot of ceramics and evidence of textile processing. A burial ground consisting of eight graves comes from the bell-cup culture (approx. 2400 BC).

On July 26, 1111, Heinrich V confirmed to the St. Nikola monastery “unam molendinum ad Aufhausen” and “item in Ahausen, iuxta Landau unam decimam”. Since 1317 there has been talk of the estate, the bailiwick and the court of Aufhausen. In 1347 Albrecht Closener acquired the Aufhausen fiefdom, and since then the Hofmark Aufhausen has been owned by the Lords of Closen until the 19th century . The Hofmark also formed the starting point for the community of Aufhausen, which emerged from the tax district of the same name in the course of the formation of the community at the beginning of the 19th century , and for the Landau / I district court. belonged to.

In 1857 a village fire raged in Aufhausen, in which ten properties on Schreinerstrasse burned down. The parsonage also fell victim to the flames. Only the successor of the pastor Schikaneder rebuilt the burnt-down rectory in its current form. On November 9, 1915, the first train ran on the Aufhausen – Kröhstorf line .

On September 27, 1964, the passenger train service was stopped, the closure followed on May 28, 1994, and in 1998 the tracks were dismantled. Today the Bockerlbahn cycle path, which opened on August 24, 1999, runs here.

The municipality of Aufhausen in the Landau an der Isar district was incorporated into the Eichendorf market on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In the east of the village, an almost 20 hectare industrial area has been created since the 1990s.
