August Arteldt

August Arteldt (born October 18, 1870 in Bevensen , † February 28, 1948 in Uelzen ) was a German politician ( DHP ).

Life

August Arteldt was born the son of a district master chimney sweep. After attending primary school in Bevensen, he was trained as a chimney sweep and passed the master craftsman's examination. In 1899 he was employed as a district chimney sweep in Uelzen.

In the Weimar Republic , Arteldt was involved in the German-Hanoverian Party (DHP). In December 1924 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament for the constituency of Stade-Lüneburg , to which he belonged until 1928. From May 1928 to September 1930 he sat for his party in the Reichstag , in which he represented constituency 15 (Hanover-East).

Arteldt was also the mayor of the city of Uelzen and a member of the Uelzen district council, as well as the 1st chairman of the chimney sweep guild for the Lüneburg administrative district and the 1st chairman of the Lüneburg administrative district's trade associations. He was also a member of the Prussian State Trade Office and a member of the board of the Northwest German Crafts Association and a member of the board of the Chimney Sweepers Association of Lower Saxony.

After the Second World War Arteldt was alderman and deputy mayor of the city of Uelzen and again a member of the district council of the district of Uelzen .

August Arteldt had been married since 1896 and had four children.
