August Carl Franz Meyer

August Carl Franz Meyer (* 1813 in Hanover ; † December 17, 1894 in Hameln ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

August Meyer was the son of the merchant Meyer in Hanover. Meyer studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1834 and became a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen in the same year . After graduating, he entered the administrative service of the Kingdom of Hanover and became an auditor in Hanover in 1841. In 1846 he was appointed district assessor and mayor of the suburb of Hanover . In 1855 he was appointed bailiff in the Salzhausen district and as such transferred to the Otterndorf district in 1860 . Most recently he was Amtshauptmann and later Kreishauptmann in Hameln,with the title of a secret councilor. Meyer was married. The son Justus Günter Meyer became mayor of Hameln.
