August Ferdinand Daehne

August Ferdinand Daehne (born October 26, 1807 in Leipzig , † December 1, 1893 in Gandersheim ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

August Ferdinand Daehne was born in Leipzig on October 26, 1807. He was educated at the local Nicolaigymnasium, where he also passed his matriculation examination . He was referring to the philosophy - and theology studies, the University of Leipzig and became a doctor of philosophy and the Master of theology doctorate . This concluded his studies.

He then went to the University of Halle and received the license to teach with the degree of a theological licentiate . After his habilitation in 1835, the university hired him as an associate professor . He also gave readings on Latin revision and Paulinism . He also taught the exegesis of the New Testament and church history .

Daehne withdrew from his professorship because of a reorganization of the university's theological faculty with regard to anti- rationalism . Nevertheless, he continued to give lectures, although these were now poorly attended. In Halle he also worked at the Moritzgemeinde. He was a church father for decades .

On December 1, 1893, Daehne died at the age of 86 in Gandersheim after a kidney disease .
