August Kneisel
Johann Friedrich August Kneisel (born January 25, 1782 , † 1855 in Leipzig ) was a German lithographer .
August Kneisel was the owner of a lithographic printing company and city councilor in Leipzig. Little is known about his life so far. He was married to Caroline Kunze (* 1791). Many of his engravings were drawn by Cäcilie Brandt . He was a member of the Leipzig Freemason Lodge " Apollo ". His works included, among other things, lithographs for Dante Alighieri's work Divine Comedy in the editions of Karl Ludwig Kannegießer . He also made lithographs for maps such as the atlas of the German federal states .
August Kneisel was buried in the old Johannisfriedhof in Leipzig.
