August Lorenz

August Lorenz (born February 19, 1883 in Erzhausen ; † November 13, 1963 ibid) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

August Lorenz was the son of the bricklayer Adam Lorenz and his wife Sophie nee Kehres. He was married to Katharina nee Heinz and was of Protestant denomination. August Lorenz worked as a bricklayer from 1900 to 1908 after attending primary school and from 1908 to 1914 as a union employee. From 1919 to 1933 he was mayor of the community of Erzhausen. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he could not continue his political work and was 1933 to 1945 as a worker operates. Between April 1945 and 1950 he was again mayor of the community of Erzhausen.

August Lorenz had been a member of the SPD since 1902. In 1945 he became chairman of the SPD in the city and district of Darmstadt. Since May 1, 1946, he worked as chairman of the Darmstadt-Land ruling chamber . From January 21, 1931 (as a replacement for Wilhelm Weber ) to April 3, 1933, he was a member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse and from July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946, a member of the State Assembly of Greater Hesse, which advised the constitution .
