August Majer

August Wilhelm Majer (born November 15, 1798 in Stuttgart , † May 8, 1876 in Ehingen ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a regional finance councilor, Majer studied law in Tübingen after attending high school in Stuttgart . During his studies in 1817 he became a member of the old Tübingen fraternity Arminia . After his time as a trainee lawyer at the court in Esslingen (1822), he became an assistant at the Higher Regional Court in Biberach and in 1824 court secretary in Reutlingen and from 1830 in Neresheim . In 1832 he was appointed chief magistrate in Aalen . From 1833 to 1835 and from 1838 to 1845 he was a member of the Württemberg state estates . In 1840 he became chief magistrate in Riedlingen and later worked as a lawyer in Ehingen.
