August Rauber

August Rauber (* 22. March 1841 in Obermoschel in Pfalz, † February 16 . Jul / 1 March  1917 greg. In Dorpat, now Tartu ) was a German anatomist .

Rauber studied in Munich and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. After his habilitation in 1869, he went to Basel as a prosector in 1872 and then to Leipzig with Wilhelm His . In 1873 he became an associate professor .

In 1886 he became a full professor of anatomy and director of the anatomical institute at the University of Dorpat .
