August Schnezler
Ferdinand Alexander August Schnezler (born August 4, 1809 in Freiburg im Breisgau , † April 11, 1853 in Munich ) was a German poet, editor and collector of legends .
Schnezler studied philosophy, history and natural sciences in Freiburg im Breisgau and Munich. From 1833 to 1838 in the Baden state service as a post office clerk, after which he turned to literary work. Schnezler worked for various magazines and edited the "Rheinische Odeon" with Ignaz Hub and Ferdinand Freiligrath from 1838 to 1841. In addition to collections of poetry, comedies and novellas, he gained fame with the publication of the collection of legends "Badisches Sagen-Buch" (2 volumes, Karlsruhe, 1846).
He also took over some of the legends from the legend collector Bernhard Baader .
