August Stöber
August Daniel Ehrenfried Stöber (born July 9, 1808 in Strasbourg , † March 19, 1884 in Mulhouse ) was an Alsatian writer.
He was the son of Ehrenfried Stoeber (1779-1835) and brother of Adolphe Stoeber .
From 1838 to 1841 he worked as a teacher in Oberbronn , then until 1873 in Mulhouse.
Stöber not only wrote poems and stories (also in Alsatian dialect ), but also researched the history and literature of his homeland. The most important collection of Alsatian sagas in the 19th century comes from him.
