August Wilhelm Willerding

August Wilhelm Willerding (born January 12, 1821 in Hildesheim , † October 3, 1897 in Dalheim near Warburg ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently president of the artillery examination commission .

His parents were the Hanoverian consortium procurator and notary NN Willerding and his wife Wilhelmine Steding .

Life

He received his education at the Andreanum grammar school in Hildesheim, where he showed himself to be a talented mathematician. After graduating, he joined the 3rd Artillery Brigade as a gunner on May 14, 1830. From 1838 to 1841 he was posted to the United Artillery and Engineering School . During this time he was appointed portepeef ensign on October 14, 1840.

He was then aggregated on October 14, 1841 as a second lieutenant and on October 13, 1842 as an artillery officer. On October 1, 1847, he was appointed fireworks lieutenant and on July 22, 1852 promoted to premier lieutenant with a patent on June 22, 1852 and assigned to the artillery examination committee . On July 2, 1857, he was appointed captain in the Guards Artillery Regiment, leaving his command. On February 15, 1859, he became a member of the Artillery Examination Commission and was placed à la suite of the regiment. During the mobilization of 1859 he was appointed leader of the Guard Reserve Artillery Company. On February 2, 1864, he also joined the Examination Board for Premier Artillery Lieutenants. On July 17, 1865, dated July 1, 1865, he was transferred to the Department of Artillery Affairs in the War Ministry; he was also released from his position as a member of the Examination Board for Premier Lieutenants. Promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 18, 1869, entrusted with the management of the artillery department on October 21, 1869 , and on July 14, 1870 he was appointed head of the department. On August 18, 1871, he was promoted to Colonel, on December 4, 1871, appointed President of the Artillery Examination Commission and made à la suite of the War Ministry. On November 12, 1872, he was then put on the disposition with a pension , in addition he received the Order of the Crown, 2nd Class, as well as approval to wear his previous uniform. On July 2, 1878 he was given the character of major general. He died unmarried on October 3, 1897 in Dalheim near Marburg.
