August von Ahlefeld

August Detlef von Ahlefeld (born August 6, 1811 on the Ohe estate near Rendsburg ; † December 13, 1891 on the Olpenitz estate near Kappeln ) was a German manor owner and district administrator in the Duchy of Schleswig .

Life

Born as the son of District Administrator Ernst Carl von Ahlefeldt from the Originarii family von Ahlefeldt , owners of the Ohe , Rögen and Olpenitz estates , August von Ahlefeld studied law at the University of Kiel . In 1831 he became a member of the Corps Holsatia . After graduation he became district administrator in the Duchy of Schleswig. During the Schleswig-Holstein uprising from 1848 to 1851, he was in charge of catering for the Prussian troops in Jutland as the food commissioner of the German Reichsarmee . After the end of the war he had to leave Schleswig. He was expressly excluded from the patent for the Duchy of Schleswig, relating to the amnesty of 1851, and was only able to return to Schleswig after an amnesty pronounced on October 9, 1856.

Ahlefeld became the owner of the manors Olpenitz and Rögen in 1857. Since 1835 he was married to Albertine Sophie von Harling . In 1879 he transferred the Olpenitz estate to his son Carl von Ahlefeld (1842–1879).
