Life

Ihle, the daughter of a merchant, was chosen because of her disposition to music. After attending the secondary school for girls in her place of birth, her parents moved to Kassel, mainly to complete their daughter's training as a piano player and also to be able to begin singing. After a few years of diligent studies, she came to Mathilde Marchesi in Vienna , where she completed her vocal training after several years of teaching.

Then she took part in Angelo Neumann's Wagner tour. It was there that she met her future husband, Friedrich Caliga , who married her in 1883.

Afterwards she accepted an engagement at the court theater in Stuttgart . This was followed by engagements in Augsburg , Basel , Mainz and Halle , only to be artistically active from then on.

She died in Munich in 1931.
