Augustin Barié

Augustin Barié (born November 15, 1883 in Paris , † August 22, 1915 in Antony ) was a French organist and composer .

Life

Barié was born blind in 1883. He studied with Adolphe Marty at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles , then with Alexandre Guilmant and Louis Vierne at the Conservatoire de Paris , where he received the first prize in 1906. He became titular organist at the Church of St. Germain-des-Prés and professor at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles. At the age of only 31, shortly after his wedding, he died of a cerebral haemorrhage .
