Augustin Bauer
Augustin Bauer (Agricola) (* 1735 in Steingaden ; † March 3, 1784 ibid) was abbot of the Premonstratensian Monastery of Steingaden from 1777 to 1784.
Life
Augustin Bauer attended the Steingaden monastery school, studied Humaniora in Landsberg and philosophy in Augsburg . In 1756 he became a Premonstratensian in Steingaden ; In 1758 he was ordained a priest . 1758 to 1762 followed a study of theology and church law in Ingolstadt ; From 1762 to 1764 he officiated as confessor at the Wies ; other pastoral care stations were pastors in Prem from 1766 to 1769 and pastors in Holzhausen from 1772 to 1774 . In 1777 he became abbot in Steingaden.
