Augusto Harold Álvarez García (born December 24, 1914 in Mérida , † November 29, 1995 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican architect .

Augusto H. Álvarez was a student of José Villagrán García . He taught at the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where one of the training workshops bears his name today. He founded the architecture school at the Universidad Iberoamericana and was the first director there.

As an architect, he was stylistically influenced by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe and also worked with the renowned architects Juan Sordo Madaleno , Enrique Carral Icaza , Salvador Ortega Flores and Ricardo Legorreta , among others . He was involved in or built buildings at Mexico City Airport , the Universidad Iberoamericana, the UNAM Commercial and Administration School, the Valle de México Bank , the IBM in Mexico City, at the Archbishop's seat, the Escuela Bancaria y Comercial and the Torre Latinoamericana .
