Augusto Pestana (born May 22, 1868 in Rio de Janeiro ; † May 29, 1934 there ) was a Brazilian engineer and politician.

Pestana studied from 1884 to 1887 at the Escola Politécnica with a degree in engineering . In 1889 he joined the Republican Party of Rio Grande do Sul .

Pestana was the first mayor of Ijuí (1912) and first chairman of the board of the State Railways of Rio Grande do Sul (1920). In 1915 he was elected for the first time to the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Brazil as a representative of the state of Rio Grande do Sul . In 1918, 1928 and 1930 he was re-elected as a federal representative.

The Brazilian city of Augusto Pestana is named after him.
