history
Heinrich Aumund founded Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH on August 3, 1922 in Berlin. The company was able to develop rapidly thanks to numerous patents in the field of conveyor and transport technology, which Heinrich Aumund had registered in the course of his research and engineering activities at the TH Danzig and TH Berlin. From 1951 his son Günter-Claus Aumund took over the management of the company. In 1957 production was relocated to Rheinberg-Millingen. After Günter-Claus Aumund's death in 1984, the third generation took over from Franz-Walter Aumund.
The company expanded worldwide. As early as 1975 in Brazil, the subsidiary "Aumund do Brasil" was founded in Rio de Janeiro and "Aumund International" in Toronto . By 1977 Aumund had a total of 14 branches and main agencies all over the world. These included branches in Australia , Finland , Greece and South Africa .
In 2001, Gustav Schade Maschinenfabrik was taken over by the Aumund Group, whereby Aumund expanded its product range with products from the field of bulk goods and storage technology. A year later, the British company B&W was taken over. B&W specializes in mobile loading and unloading machines for bulk goods. Aumund said goodbye to crane technology, once a core competence, in 1995.
In 2006 the Franz-W. Aumund Foundation founded, which awards Heinrich Aumund scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements and a connection to construction and materials handling technology at the TU Berlin and the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences .
