The Luftwaffe Sports Club Neubrandenburg (short: LSV Neubrandenburg ) was a German military football club from Neubrandenburg that existed from 1939 to 1944. The greatest successes in the club's short-term history were midfield positions in the Mecklenburg region.

Athletic career

The Luftwaffe SV Neubrandenburg came into being when the National Socialists came to power in 1939 in the vicinity of the local Trollenhagen air base . At the sporting level, the LSV was integrated into the Gauliga Mecklenburg in the 1942/43 season, analogous to the LSV Arado Warnemünde and LSV Rerik, with the dissolution of the Gauliga Nordmark in 1942 and the formation of the Gauligen Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Mecklenburg . The Mecklenburg Gauliga, which apart from the traditional Gauligists of TSG Rostock and the Wehrmacht SG Schwerin consisted almost exclusively of air force clubs, finished in fourth place in Neubrandenburg in the opening season.

In the following season, the Luftwaffe SV came in fifth again. Subsequently, the club was withdrawn from gaming prematurely in September 1944 due to the war. The club was not re-established after 1945; with the ASG Vorwärts Neubrandenburg and the ASG Vorwärts Fünfeichen , military associations were re-established in Neubrandenburg from 1956.
