The Air Force Sports Club Rerik (short: LSV Rerik ) was a German military sports club from Rerik in today's Rostock district , which existed from 1940 to 1944. The greatest success in the club's short-term history was the soccer championship in Gau Mecklenburg.

Athletic career

The Luftwaffe SV Rerik was established in 1940 in the vicinity of the local Flak Artillery School 1 . On the sporting level, the LSV footballers were integrated into the Gauliga Mecklenburg in the 1942/43 season with the dissolution of the Gauliga Nordmark and the formation of the Gauligen Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Mecklenburg analogous to the LSV Arado Warnemünde in the 1942/43 season . The Mecklenburg Gauliga, which apart from the traditional Gauligists of TSG Rostock and the Wehrmacht SG Schwerin consisted almost entirely of air force clubs, Rerik finished third in the opening season.

In the following season Rerik drove in the Mecklenburg championship for the first time. In the associated qualification for the final round of the German championship 1943/44 , the club met the master of the Gauliga Pomerania . Despite leading at half time (3: 2), the Mecklenburgers were defeated by the Pomeranian champions HSV Groß Born 4: 6.

Subsequently, the club was prematurely withdrawn from gaming operations and dissolved due to the war in September 1944. A re-establishment was not carried out after 1945.
