The Luftwaffe sports club Arado Warnemünde (short: LSV Arado ) was a German military soccer team from Warnemünde during the Second World War.
Athletic career
Arado Warnemünde was founded in 1924 as a works team for Arado Flugzeugwerke . At the sporting level, the Mecklenburgers initially played no role in the higher-class football of Northern Germany, from 1940 the club then functioned under the name Luftwaffen-SV Arado .
With the dissolution of the Gauliga Nordmark in 1942 and the formation of the new Gauligen Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Mecklenburg, the LSV Arado Warnemünde was integrated into the Gauliga Mecklenburg from the 1942/43 season . The Mecklenburg Gauliga, which apart from the traditional Gauligists of TSG Rostock and the Wehrmacht SG Schwerin consisted almost entirely of air force clubs, held Warnemünde with secured midfield positions until 1943/44.
Subsequently, the club was prematurely withdrawn from gaming operations and dissolved in 1944 due to the war. A new establishment in the form of a company sports association was not carried out after 1945 because the Arado aircraft factory no longer existed.
