Aurel Beldeanu (born March 5, 1951 in Dobroeşti ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 353 games in the Divizia A . In 1980 and 1981, the midfielder won the Romanian championship with Universitatea Craiova .

Career

Beldeanu joined the Progresul Bucharest first team squad in 1968 . In the 1968/69 season he came to his first assignments and soon became a regular. After relegation at the end of the season, he and his team returned to the House of Lords in 1970. His second season in Divizia A also ended with relegation. After the missed promotion in 1972, he left the club to CSM Reșița . Here, too, he established himself as a regular and proved his goal threat.

In the summer of 1976, the top club Universitatea Craiova signed Beldeanu. The following years were the most successful of his career. After winning the two cups in 1977 and 1978 , he and his team won the Romanian championship in the 1979/80 season. The highlights of his career were the 1981 double and the semi-finals of the 1982/83 UEFA Cup .

In the summer of 1985 Beldeanu left "Uni Craiova" and moved to league rival Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea . There he ended his career in 1986.

National team

Beldeanu played 18 games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on April 18, 1973 in the friendly against the Soviet Union when he came on for Ion Dumitru in the 82nd minute . After four more missions in 1974, he was not considered for five years before he returned to the national team on November 18, 1979 in the final European Championship qualifier against Cyprus . With the beginning of the qualification for the World Cup in 1982 he became a regular. On September 23, 1981 he came to his last international match against Hungary .
