Frida is a poor orphan, her dog Bello is her only friend. When she comes to live with relatives in the big city, they take her in, but only because they speculate that one day they will be able to make a lot of money with her beauty and her talent for singing. But Frida's debut as a singer in a pint turns into a fiasco, and the landlord forces her to encourage the guests. Horrified about where she got into, Frida rushes out of the bar and into the nearest river. Your dog, who was a young medic named Dr. Störmer ran up to it, leads it there so that Frida can be rescued from the searing water at the last moment. The doctor takes Frida in and the two young people become a couple. A child emerges from this relationship, but when Störmer asks for her hand, Frida grabs her little worm and runs away. Five years later. Dr. Störmer, meanwhile a famous capacity in his field, is called to a dying woman. He recognizes his Frida and also his little daughter. He can no longer help her, but both offspring will be fine with him.
Production notes
The book of life was created at the beginning of 1916 in the BB-Film-Atelier in Berlin-Steglitz , Berlinickestr. 11. The film was censored in March 1916, was banned from young people and was probably premiered a little later. The film had three acts and was 1,150 meters long.
