Herbert Paulmüller

Herbert Paulmüller (born November 30, 1858 in Berlin ; † October 25, 1939 there ) was a German actor and veteran of silent films .
Life
Paulmüller initially wanted to become a painter and received professional training in this art from two teachers. At the age of 22 he decided to change jobs and went to the theater . For around 40 years he played at leading theaters in Berlin (Residenz Theater, Wallner Theater, Komödienhaus, Lustspielhaus, Thalia Theater). He made a name for himself above all as a comedian in comedies.
The brawny-looking bald head, visually reminiscent of his colleague Jakob Tiedtke , appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1911 in the sound image We are a happy married couple from Jean Gilbert's operetta Die chaste Susanne and was a sought-after film actor before the First World War . In 1913 he worked in two comedies by Max Mack , as Brummer in the first (and lost) film adaptation of the swank Die Blaue Maus and in Die Welt ohne Mann as Dr. Woodpecker . He shot another movie fun game, Die Perle , with the same director in 1914.
Paulmüller made other films throughout the war. From the beginning of the 1920s until the dawn of the sound film era , he was significantly less active in film. In the 1930s, the elderly artist was brought in front of the camera several times. His range of roles included small employees and academics as well as dignitaries and fathers. Herbert Paulmüller remained sporadically associated with acting as a guest artist until the end.
