From the shadows into the light is the fourth Soloalbum the Berlin rapper contra-K . It was released on February 6, 2015 by the music label Four Music . Skinny Al and Daniel Spencer are featured on the album with guest contributions.

In May 2014, Kontra K signed a record deal with the Berlin music label Four Music . First, the Wolves EP was released . On November 7, 2014, his new studio album was finally announced on the label's blog. The album was released on February 6, 2015 and reached number [[File: | mini]] 2 on the German album charts.

The producers were mainly Dirty Dasmo and Matthias Mania. Daniel Grossmann, Abaz and Reaf were also involved in the production.

In July 2017 the album reached gold status, the single "Success is not luck" also reached gold status in September 2017 with 200,000 units sold.

The album received mostly positive reviews. The album received four out of five stars from the online music magazine Laut.de. The reviewer Laura Sprenger ruled:

“Kontra K has thrown off the ballast of the past and takes us on the stony path to inner strength. [...] Neither tricky word games, nor forced comparisons or long rhymes are necessary to get the simple message across. Instead: clear words that everyone can understand. "

The reviewer Daniel Schieferdecker from hip-hop magazine Juice went into more detail on the artist's transformation:

“After his musical early days as half of the rap duo Vollkontakt, Kontra K first stepped solo paths five years ago and stepped into the game as a 'Doberman' - loud, snappy and aggressive. The first step towards transformation followed last year. […] Rather, the Berliner presented himself as grown and with a fixed moral system of values. Contra's fourth solo album ›Aus dem Schatten ins Licht‹, his first on a major label, is now the logical musical continuation of the ›Wölfe‹ EP from last year. "
