The Auster Pass is a high mountain pass in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range it leads between Mount Huggins and Mount Kempe from McMurdo Sound to the area of the Skelton Glacier .
The northern New Zealand survey team on the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) named the pass after the aircraft made by the British manufacturer Auster Aircraft , which were used on Antarctic flights by the Royal New Zealand Air Force .
