It forms the eastern, elevated section of the Botnneset peninsula on the south side of the Lützow-Holm Bay . It is characterized by three groups of ledges. In north-south order these are Austhovde-kita Iwa , Austhovde-naka Iwa and Austhovde-minami Iwa .
