The alternative command post K 23/24 was a command center in the territory of the Ministry of National Defense (MfNV) of the GDR . It was in the basement areas of houses 4 u. 9 and served until the operational command center and the operational training center for war planning with the code name "Magnet" and as a command post for command staff exercises.

At the same time, an underground access was created from the bunker of the main news center, which was later expanded with the establishment of the protected operational command center . Until the completion of the protected operational management center at the beginning of the 1980s, the basement rooms were occupied by the operational duty officer of the Ministry (OpD) and a few selected duty officers from departments and administrations, such as B. the service have used messages (DN). With the completion of the operational control center, the basement 23/24 lost its importance, but remained technically prepared as an alternative control point for occupancy with operational staff if necessary.
