Alternative lead office of the MfNV K 23/24
The alternative command post K 23/24 was a command center in the territory of the Ministry of National Defense (MfNV) of the GDR . It was in the basement areas of houses 4 u. 9 and served until the operational command center and the operational training center for war planning with the code name "Magnet" and as a command post for command staff exercises.
Involvement
In the system of covered preparation, the leadership positions Harnekop , Niederlehme , Streganz / Hammer, Hennickendorf (controversial in recent years) and the leadership train ( railway train ) were available. In addition, the preconditions for the management of the NVA under special situation conditions were created in the alternative command post K 23/24 .

As basement rooms with a massive superstructure, partially protected, the access was secured against unauthorized entry and with the necessary amount of wired management anteroom systems, terminals for SAS telephone and WTsch government connections, TV access, rolling card systems, light tables, command intercom and the installation a pneumatic tube line from the bunker of the main news center . At the same time, an underground access was created from the bunker of the main news center, which was later expanded with the establishment of the protected operational command center . Via this corridor and the cellar corridors of houses 4 and 9, house 3 in the ministry, seat of the National Defense Council of the GDR, was covered without "showing up".

Until the completion of the protected operational management center at the beginning of the 1980s, the basement rooms were occupied by the operational duty officer of the Ministry (OpD) and a few selected duty officers from departments and administrations, such as B. the service have used messages (DN). Under special location conditions with increased demands on management and planning work , e.g. B. in the preparation and implementation of exercises , maneuvers or other special measures, selected officers and technical personnel from the service areas and administrations of the ministry and from the commands of the armed forces of the NVA performed their official tasks in the basement.
With the completion of the operational control center, the basement 23/24 lost its importance, but remained technically prepared as an alternative control point for occupancy with operational staff if necessary.
