The AvD-Palais is an office and commercial building built on Leipziger Platz No. 16 , which forms part of the baroque octagon of Leipziger Platz .

history

The AvD-Palais was the seat of the Automobile Club of Germany (AvD) until the 1940s and was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War . The former Palais Bleichröder is located on the same site on Leipziger Platz as the former Wertheim department store , which was the largest and most beautiful in Europe at the time. On May 27, 1905, the former Palais Bleichröder was inaugurated as the new club house of the German Automobile Club DAC , which was allowed to call itself the Imperial Automobile Club from December 24, 1905 due to the takeover of the Protectorate by a cabinet order from Kaiser Wilhelm II .

The topping-out ceremony took place on December 5, 2013.

Completion was at the end of 2014. Tenants of this building are the radio station Energy , Getec and HGHI Holding.
